Additions and Renovations at St Joseph of the Pines – March 2017
On the very first business day of the year, WeaverCooke started work on renovations and additions to the St Joseph of the Pines campus in Southern Pines, North Carolina. Located in a picturesque small town and nestled beneath some of the oldest long-leaf pines in the world, St. Joseph is a beautiful, quiet place to live. Throughout our construction process, we have worked hard to keep it that way, and we’re excited about what the new additions will add for current and future residents.
The first part of this project to finish will be the clubhouse renovations. We’re renovating about ¼ of a 43,000 square foot building. What is now the library will be renovated into a classic English pub with fireplace, pool table, and TV’s. The fine dining is being changed to an open concept kitchen, where residents will be able to see through to the kitchens as the chefs are preparing their food. The renovations to casual dining have fewer major changes, but all areas will receive new flooring, trim, carpet, and ceilings. A coffee bar will also be added.
The renovations to the clubhouse are expected to be finished by the middle of the summer, in time for a Grand Opening planned for the Fourth of July.
A 7,200 square foot addition is also being constructed to add ten memory care beds to the campus. The addition will feature a community living room and kitchen, with a fireplace, large windows, and a beautiful courtyard. Construction of the new memory care addition is scheduled to finish in August of this year.
